MEI has been I working with John Flynn Hospital since 2009 doing the interior design for the renovation of each area of this iconic 25 year old hospital. Situated on Tugun hill with sweeping views of the ocean, Ramsay Health wanted to hire local gold coast interior designers, who would be sensitive to the local clientele, but also create an international hospitality feel. For this private hospital, we have carefully blended a warm and inviting aesthetic with careful attention to the requirements of a commercial setting including maintenance issues as well as Infection control. The lobby and break out areas, as well as the rooms, needed to avoid feeling clinical, but still utilise high performance finishes and fixtures. Healthcare design is all about balancing commercial requirements with a warm and inviting feeling that puts the occupants at ease during stressful times.
