This home in Kingscliff had great interior architecture with soaring ceilings and lots of natural light, but a decidedly underwhelming kitchen and master bathroom. The interior design brief was to create maximum impact on a budget, and to reflect the owners artistic personality with something unique, but nothing so custom that it would hurt the resell value of the house. Being Gold Coast interior designers, we were well equipped to design a modern beach house without going for the obvious cliches, or a look that would date quickly.
The kitchen renovation centered around a new island with oak timber tops, a timber tile front, and the owner’s prized mint green Smeg fridge. To inject a bit of fun, we finished it off with custom printed pendants shades in bright citrus colours and some retro cane bar stools. The existing interior design of the bathroom was a typically boring combination of white on white so we redid the vanity wall in a boho Moroccan printed tile and created a floating vanity to give the feeling of more space. A new over sized porcelain floor tile in a limestone look was installed throughout the house, plus a fresh coat of paint and the house was transformed!…complete with a very happy owner.
